Digital Survival Group strengthens its position with the strategic acquisitions of Cloudiction and E-mergo
Utrecht, December 20, 2024 – Digital Survival Group, a rapidly growing Dutch platform focused on full-service digital transformation, has taken two significant steps in the final months of 2024 to strengthen its position. In November, Digital Survival Group acquired Baarn-based Cloudiction, a cloud services specialist with more than 50 cloud experts. This was followed in mid-December by the second strategic acquisition of E-mergo, a leading Data & AI player based in Delft with over 80 data specialists.
With these two acquisitions, Digital Survival Group now consists of more than 300 experts and has doubled its revenue to over €50 million.
Cloudiction and E-mergo are becoming part of Digital Survival Group
Cloudiction and E-mergo are joining the existing group, which already has two strong labels: the cloud company Digital Survival Company (DSC) and the software development company Product League.
The Cloudiction team will closely collaborate with the DSC team to further strengthening the group’s position as a high-quality managed services provider (MSP). Within its cloud portfolio, Digital Survival Group offers clients secure, scalable, and future-proof cloud solutions across public cloud, hybrid cloud, and modern workplace environments.
E-mergo will continue to operate as an independent label within the group, focusing on data-driven solutions such as business intelligence, data science, and AI. This positions E-mergo as a key player in Digital Survival Group’s strategy to support clients in data-driven innovation and decision-making.
Steven Klompenhouwer, CEO of Digital Survival Group, explains the two acquisitions:
"We are proud to welcome Cloudiction and E-mergo to our group. We warmly welcome all our new colleagues into our inspiring company culture and look forward to working together within the group. The acquisition of Cloudiction strengthens our cloud proposition, and the addition of E-mergo enables us to expand in the Data & AI field.
These are two significant steps forward in achieving our goal as a market challenger: to establish a leading platform for full-service digital transformation. In the Dutch market, Digital Survival Group is a unique platform. There is no comparable organization with our boutique-driven approach, proven high-quality expertise, and distinctive company culture. At the same time, our revenue doubles and the profit contribution grows significantly, within just six months after the start of our partnership with Lexar Partners. This gives us great confidence as we prepare for further expansion."
Jan Riksen, COO of Digital Survival Group, emphasizes the strength of the group following the acquisitions:
"With Cloudiction and E-mergo on board, we have significantly expanded our portfolio and services in the field of digital transformation. This supports our mission to guide companies through the entire digital transformation journey. In the coming months, we will focus on ensuring successful collaboration within the group, now including Cloudiction and E-mergo. Our group structure ensures that both our clients and employees are optimally supported.
With centralized support in areas such as finance, sales, marketing, and HR, our teams can fully concentrate on what truly matters: delivering excellent services and achieving our clients’ goals, both now and in the future."
Responses from Cloudiction and E-mergo
John van Veldhoven, Managing Director and founder of Cloudiction, sees the acquisition as an important step in the development of his company:
"At Cloudiction, we have been focused on delivering high-quality solutions since 1991. Joining forces with Digital Survival Group means we can serve our clients even better with a broader range of cloud expertise and the benefits of scale. For our employees, this creates an even stronger foundation with more career opportunities in a culture that aligns well with our own values. I look forward to building a successful future together with the Digital Survival Group team."
Jaco Geluk, Managing Director and co-founder of E-mergo, shares this sentiment:
"This step offers E-mergo's close-knit team the opportunity to elevate our data-driven solutions to an even higher level. As an independent label within the group, we will continue to focus on innovative data and AI solutions. The collaboration within Digital Survival Group provides us with new opportunities to inspire and support even more clients. This is a fantastic opportunity to increase our impact in data and AI, a rapidly growing market. We are excited to further develop within Digital Survival Group and strengthen E-mergo’s leading position."
Response from Lexar Partners
The acquisitions were made possible with the support of Lexar Partners, a rapidly growing private equity firm based in Laren and a strategic growth partner of Digital Survival Group.
James Looman, Investment Director at Lexar Partners, highlights the importance of these developments:
"With the acquisitions of Cloudiction and E-mergo, Digital Survival Group has established a solid foundation for further growth. By bringing together cloud, software development, and data within one group, we are creating a one-stop-shop that helps companies excel in their digital transformation. We are proud to support Digital Survival Group’s vision, which underscores the strength and ambition of our buy-and-build strategy."
