PLUS has taken on an enormous digital transformation challenge in recent years. One of the crucial foundations for PLUS's digital strategy was getting more out of cloud-native technology. A major desire was to integrate the Public Cloud, thoroughly but pragmatically, into the complex landscape of the food retail value chains.
Digital Survival Company has been asked to create a cloud strategy and roadmap for PLUS in the discovery phase. Based on the workshop approach completed together, this resulted in a multi-cloud strategy and a clear cloud roadmap. A financial business case has also been set up for the cloud transformation. Subsequently, based on our cloud foundation framework, a conscious choice was made based on the functional requirements to accommodate one part of the landscape in Azure and the other part in AWS.
This multi-cloud approach resulted in two landing zones, after which we started migrating workloads based on our proven infrastructure-as-code approach. After completing the workload migrations, we took over the 24/7 management of all workloads in Azure and AWS. To this day, this is running like a charm and the rest of the cloud transformation is planned in the coming periods.
